Did you hear about the one where Yahoo! forced it’s employees to work unpaid overtime on the failed Panama advertising system then gave them a $50 holiday bonus for their troubles?
This went to court and a settlement was reached. Now plaintiffs are getting between $10,000-$12,000 for their troubles! Now that’s what I call a bonus.
If Yahoo wasn’t so cheap then they could have afforded more phd’s to work on their algorithm so they can steal some of Google’s thunder.

You may all be watching the Google-Yahoo! advertising partnership deal closely. We have been checking in on it but are not concerned with it actually happening. One of us here at Web Design Taxi brought up the fact that one day not too far away Yahoo! and Microsoft will end up together. We brought this up when the first speculation came up back in 2003-2004. Man did we get ALOT of slack from so-called seo experts who said it will NEVER HAPPEN. Well, then Microsoft started this takeover project recently and it is hard not to say “I told you so”. Even after Microsoft walked away from the deal they came back on spec that Carl Icahn was ousting the current Yahoo! board.
Well we still stand by our belief that Yahoo! will end up kissing Microsoft. You are now Google and wife.
Keep an eye on the issue brought up in the Senate. It is a major issue because if Google did get Yahoo on board then it would put other major (but not huge) advertisement firms at risk of closure. The competition would drive down prices and water down the industry. The fact is that if Google did get Yahoo! then they would be able to lower prices way too much that other companies cannot afford to compete. PlainĀ & simple.
The end result of this craziness is what we have said all along. Yahoo! is packing it’s bags and moving in with Microsoft.

According to Reuters, Microsoft is no longer interested in a merger with Yahoo!. A few years back I told skeptical people that the two companies would end up together somehow. Then a couple years ago the buzz was that Microsoft was going to buy Yahoo!. It never happened. Then recently Microsoft attempted to buy them out but we all know how that turned out.
I am still betting on a partnership between the two companies. It is just smart business. Otherwise neither company will be able to catch up to the hype of Google.
At the same time, I have noticed how much easier it is to get top 10 rankings in Google these days. I am consistant in my approach and results.
I also noticed some spam sites violating Google technical guidelines and they have not yet been banned. You would think that shareholders would nip that in the bud. Afterall, Google is supposed to have the most advanced relevant search algorithm in the world right?
