In case you have not noticed, we removed our adsense ads from our blog. With it went the revenue sharing. Fortunately this will not affect anyone because so far there has been nobody interested in co-authoring posts. We may turn it back on in the future if we get contributors. Especially for tutorial authors who write unique content for us.

You can easily monetize your website with adsense if you follow the guidelines and market your website on a regular basis. Google has guidelines on where you can place ads. It is not specific, but rather a “don’t do this” sort of thing. An example of what not to do would be to place adsense right next to your navigation so that people accidentally click on the ads when they are trying to move around your website.

Adsense works best on websites that already have traffic coming to them. Sometimes it is best to handle your marketing first, especially for social networking websites. This will show visitors a clean website with no ads so they feel better about hanging out there. When you get regular users then you can seamlessly ad adsense into your design but without cluttering up the website. The last thing you want is a messy looking site filled with ads.

You should match the ads into your design the best you can. If your design has a black background then your adsense should have a black background with light text, and links.

You can use text, images, or list items for adsense depending on where you are placing the code. You can also add video ads.

The possibilities are endless, but the methodology has to be followed otherwise you will most likely fail on your path to adsense heaven.
