Over the years there have been a ton of get rich quick schemes on the internet. And even with bad press, alot of those schemes still get signups from people hoping that they can strike oil. But I am here to tell you of how you can actually make decent money and it has nothing to do with unrealistic promises. It is simple common sense and math that sets it apart.

Have you ever come across a page on the internet with a bunch of hyped up text, pictures, and usually a clock counting down? It is called a squeeze page. The page is meant to hype up a product which is usually an ebook or software in which at the time you are done reading the page, you can buy the product.

Squeeze pages usually sell a product that gives you resell rights. Ebooks are a good example. Not all of them, but alot of ebooks give the buyer master resell rights which allows him/her to put up a similar squeeze page on the internet and sell that product just like it was sold to the buyer. The key to successfully making money is to get the buyers on the page. The answer is in the math.

Let’s say that you have a product for sale at $1.00, and let’s say you got 1 million people to purchase that product. You just made $1,000,000.00. What if your product was selling for $15.00? you need just under 67,000 buyers to purchase that product to get that same 1 million dollars. In order to do that you will need to play the numbers game.

There are plenty of decent opt-in email services out there. I have recently come across one that sells a 1 million email blast for $600. Assuming that at least 10% of those emails turn into conversions, that equals 100,000 buyers which is way more than the 67,000 you need. In the worst case scenario you need 6.7 percent of those 1 million emails to actually convert in order to make your first 1 million dollars profit.

The best part of all this is that you can easily find a decent ebook or product that will sell for $15.00 and has master resell rights. Simpy Google “master resell rights” and see what products pop-up in results.

The rat race. The definition by Robert Kiyosaki is basically a rat wheel that you constantly run on split up in pie slices. Each slice can be a paycheck, a liability, or an opportunity.

Getting out of the rat race means that your passive income exceeds your monthly expenses. Passive income is money that you make on your own rather than get by working for someone else. You can obtain passive income by buying and selling stocks, investing in real estate, and starting a business.

The key to your businesses success is to lower the expenses and bring in the profits. In order to do that you have to learn how to use leverage. For example if you bought a $150,000 2-unit property you would not pay $150,000 in cash. You would offer the least amount of out of pocket cash and get the seller to finance the balance, or take out a loan. In business, you would seek out strategic partnerships with other companies that help your company grow and run more efficiently.

Strategic partnerships would be maybe a call center that handles pay per performance cold calling. They would work hard to make a sale so that they make a profit. Such a partner would cost you zero risk because in order for you to pay them any money you would be getting money from the new sale to cover that payment.

The golden question is how do you compete with outsourcing when India and other countries have such cheap labor costs. The answer is you avoid cheap gigs. If you consistantly bid on cheap gigs you are bound to attract cheap clients on a regular basis.

Your costs for web design should not be less than $30 an hour. Unfortunately you can find developers in China for $4 an hour. The benefit to you is that when a company that has the money decides to outsource instead, they usually get what they pay for and end up knocking on your door in the end.

Aim for those larger gigs that pay $2,000 or more for a 10 page static website or $5,000 minimum gigs for web development. By targeting such clients you can do less worrying about your operating costs and focus solely on your clients. You will also lessen demand for cheap developers as they show their true worth. You should avoid being the $5,000 expert with a $1,000 income.

Marketing is what gets you traffic and/or sales. But an important part of your marketing is going to be conversions. And you do not get conversions with low quality websites. So make sure your website is web 2.0 friendly first. If not then request a free quote for website redesign.

Sales are tough to come by for even the larger companies like the big 3 automakers, never mind small web development firms.

Companies everywhere have been feeling the pain. But shortly after Barack Obama takes office, this New Year is expected to be fruitful for all.

If your company has been marketing the same way for years and it has been working until the economy downturn, don’t fret! Continue with your proven marketing methods and take the time to give it an extra shove. By this time next year you should have seen the benefits of your efforts.

Holidays are great for marketing to consumers. You will notice many online shopping websites transform their design based on the holiday such as red and green with ornaments for Christmas, and pumpkins with orange and black for Halloween.

Along with theme changes companies always have a special offer ready for visitors. Web Design Taxi is no different. This Halloween season we are offering search engine marketing starting at just $150 per month ($300 regular price). This offer is good from today until Halloween.

Clearly this type of marketing has been around for a long time. Have you ever notices that on the top of Yahoo you notice their logo change during holidays and special days of the year? What about the time Google went all dark for a day that was meant to conserve energy? Everyone is into utilizing holidays for traffic generation and hype.

If your company has a website, it most likely needs traffic. Unless of course you are the ceo of a major corporation with lots of brand recognition. If you are then you are most likely not going to care about this post unless you are optimizing your traffic.

Free services and tools are a great way of generating traffic. Let’s say for example that you have an interior design company. Offering your visitors a free flash tool online that allows them to decorate their room virtually before they buy or sign up for your service will help you make the sale.

The extra money spent on free tools that require zero or little management from you can help you generate twice as many sales or more!

Traffic generation is more than social networking and blogging. By offering a free tool you are bound to get a flood of inbound links from grateful webmasters who stumbled upon your website. And if you are wise, you will have a graphic and a statement requesting that visitors link to your tool on your website using a code that you provide.

Well, it has been hectic here. But pluggin away anyways. To revive the fresh posts here we would like to offer a sales tip. What many websites lack is a call to action. You have to provide a valid reason and something worthwhile to your visitors, then you have to point them to the path to contacting you and/or signing up or buying from you.

This is sales 101. Many existing websites lack a basic call to action. A short paragraph explaining how you are the best and a link to contact you or your contact information just below the pitch.

Without the call-to-action you are shooting blanks. You wrote a good amount of copy but forgot to mention that you are open for business. So in the spirit of being funny, contact us because we are the best web developers around!
