As a Chicago based company with an owner from Chicago we felt compelled to post this. The original news story is below for those unfamiliar with the renaming of The Sears Tower in Chicago. A London based company moved all their offices into the tower and gained naming rights to the tower for no extra cost. It is being renamed Willis Tower this summer.

For all of us who are outraged by the name change of an iconic piece of America we need to come together and boycott the tower if it gets officially renamed. We also need to go out and protest BEFORE summer gets here and show Willis Group that we mean business.

Please comment here to show your support for keeping The Sears Tower alive!

——— Original news story borrowed from Yahoo! News ———-

One of the most iconic buildings in the world will soon have a new name. Sears Tower, at one point the tallest skyscraper on earth, will be known as Willis Tower starting this summer.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Willis Group Holdings, a London-based insurance broker, didn’t have to pay anything for the name. After consolidating its area offices to the Tower, Willis was given naming rights to the 36-year-old skyscraper. It was a package deal, of sorts. According to the Tribune, Willis is hoping its newest venture increases the company’s name recognition in the United States. Apparently, it’s a big player across the pond, but few Yanks know anything about it.

Clearly the move is already having an effect in Search. Lookups on “willis tower,” “sears tower,” and “what is willis company” immediately soared into the stratosphere. But some wonder if native Chicagoans will play along with the name change. CNN quotes a local historian as saying that it will be hard for residents “to shift and start calling it (Sears Tower) something else.”

Indeed, a message board on a Chicago station’s website features many sarcastic and “Is nothing sacred?”-type remarks. One telling quote: “They can rename it whatever they want, the people who live here will always refer to it as The Sears Tower.”

——— Original news story borrowed from Yahoo! News ———-

Our economy has been in bad shape for awhile now. There are many factors involved, however there is one single fix that will allow us to recover and thrive no matter what.

Our nation will never be stable completely until we are completely independent when it comes to energy. One day our unleaded gas costs $1.69 per gallon and the next it is $2.50. Then we go forth into te $3.00 range and when our economy starts hurting it tops well over $4.00. I have not been outside in a week but when I heard it was down to $2.69 I could not believe my ears!

We as a nation have the knowledge we need to make this change but we refuse to use it. It is because of the profits to be made in oil which makes it impossible to become a green nation. We have been able to convert cars to run on tap water. And if you remember the man named Joseph Newman who created a self-powered machine that needs NOTHING whatsoever in order to run. The Newman Generator is probably our best bet but the U.S. Patent Office is biased and refuse to allow the patent. This means it will never go into mass production.

Other nations actively produce vehicles that run on water and electricity. Check out the Aptera which is an oddly-shaped car that is classified as a motorcycle and gets 300 MPG! Google it.

If we were to mass produce these vehicles there would be a huge difference in our nation. The poor will be able to afford to drive to work. Homeless people will have year-round shelters because energy costs would be low for those shelters. In addition, there would be less homeless out there on the street. Some of those walking the streets got there because they could not afford their gas and electricity bill and when it got turned off they had to move. It is against the law to live in a home without energy.

Our solution is simple. Let’s make a change.

This falls back into the category of being creative to expand your business, or just to keep it afloat. Personal needs are important to keep your business alive as well. When the funds are just not there for a needed expense, you can always fall back on creative financing for your everyday life.

Well, let us celebrate…. sort of. This is out 100th post! I got a theory about Google and blogs that hit the 100th post milestone. But that’s another story.

Unfortunately, this day is upsetting. I was trying to help someone out who was in a bad situation. She was behind on her rent and other bills severely. I gave her $500 in cash and I paid her landlord $250 on her behalf. There was a benefit on my part though. I was buying a police car from her that she had gotten for free. I was giving her $1,300 for it. And that $750 was supposed to be applied to it.

Well, all of her furniture and personal belongings are in our possession, which is at the place she was renting before she moved out. We took over the place and told her she can keep her stuff here until she can afford to come get it. She has taken advantage of us by giving us 3 different dates within 3 weeks for pickup, then she took the police car one last time to get to where she needed to go. Now she is telling us that she is NOT bringing the car back here. So I am out $750!

The good thing here is that we have her possessions. We are handing them over to the landlord for collateral for the $1,000 she owes him. And we changed the locks!

We try not to lose faith in people, and we try and help where we can. The problem is that we always get hit by someone taking advantage of us.

I have been a DMOZ editor since June of this year. While I have been there a short time I already edit in 2 categories and hold a “temporary” postition in another category which I hope to make permanent shortly.

If you came here looking for secrets about DMOZ them you came to the wrong place. I follow the rules 100% and would never share inside knowledge about the Open Directory. I enjoy editing too much than to go and risk being kicked out.

What I will tell you is that the way to climb the ladder once you are in is to hold the highest ethical editing standards. Ask questions to the senior editors and metas when you are unsure about something such as what sites are inappropriate, how to create new categories, and whatever else may be holding you back from contributing to the biggest human edited directory on the planet.

In addition to asking questions, it is a good idea to surf for high quality websites that will benefit the directory as a whole, and more importantly, the end-user of DMOZ looking for a website. As an editor you are not obligated to even look at user submitted links. While many editors do, it is usually more productive to find websites yourself and add them if they meet the standards.

After I get a good chunk of edits under my belt I am going to expand my editing categories and my knowledge as well.

Hi everyone! We are proud to announce that from now on all wire transfers from clients go into our Charles Schwab, and ING Direct investment accounts. When the funds get placed into these accounts, we invest in alternative energy stocks. Everything from solar panel manufacturers to geothermal energy companies. Additionally, we invest in automobile manufacturers that have the best hybrid ratings.

We also look out for stocks with high profit ability. For example, Yahoo! will soon be bought by Microsoft in a hostile takeover. When this happens, Yahoo! stocks will jump on speculation that they will compete with Google.

Do not worry if you pay us by other means for services rendered. We do transfer funds to these investment accounts on an as-needed basis.

I have worked to keep a low profile when it comes to who I am in the music business. I still plan on keeping that practice for now. I have recorded with platinum hit producers and musicians.

A few years back I stopped making music and focused on business and ecommerce. It was a hobby that I was able to turn into a successful business with many wonderful clients.

Lately I have been hearing some great inspiring music that has me thinking. I used to write and record songs that touched you deep inside. My songs caried a melody and demanded it touch your soul in one way or another. It feed off of your emotions and made you follow every backround noise and every word in the lyrics. I stopped making that music because I guess it had control of my emotions also.

Music was my release, and by losing my release I seemed to have lost my soul. I have all of this digidesign gear and pro tools just sitting in a storage room collecting dust.

I recently decided to start writing and producing again. Somehow I create the best music when I am surrounded by what others will call a huge distraction. I write emotion grabbing hits when there is loud construction outside. I can somehow pick out the melodies by that noise. I don’t really see it as noise at all. It is my focus.

With the gas prices above $4.00 now, we have no choice but to look at alternatives. That being said, we have gotten our hands on schematics to convert our internal combustion engine to run on tap water.

We are testing the conversion on a golf cart and a riding lawn mower first. Then we will be doing this on my 1985 cadillac fleetwood which is an 8 cylinder gas guzzler.

The conversion includes adding a tank to hold the water, an adapter for the fuel pump, a cooling unit, and a heating mechanism to make the hydrogen expand before it gets to the pistons. When we are done we will be able to put water in from the tap, and get many miles from it. If it works as planned then we will be filling up the trunk with milk gallons full of water, except in the winter, and driving all the time. The only exhaust from this will be water vapor.

This whole process has been done before. An engine that ran on water was invented back when they first created cars. When someone goes to patent it, oil companies go and buy it from the inventor then they shelve it so that they can keep selling oil. For us little guys we can do the conversion ourselves and save a grip on gas. If we all did this then car manufacturers will have no choice but to build it into their cars, otherwise they will be losing out. Seriously, what’s the point of buying a new car that runs on gas when I can use my 85 caddy with nothing but water. In my case, I rent. Included in rent is water. This means that I am getting my fuel for free. You can even run the car on rain water.

Japan recently came out with a car that runs on water. It was in the news. It is nothing new.
