Link building tips for one-way traffic
When you think of link building most people think reciprocal. However, reciprocal linking is not the best way of gaining links because search engines know that you are trading a link and trying to manipulate the search results.
A true link builder should be able to get a large amount of one-way links. It is actually a pretty easy process. If you provide valuable content on your website then other people are bound to link to your website.
If you write quality articles and publish them on an article website then webmasters will use your article on their website. When a webmaster uses your article, they are required to keep the author and link in the resource box otherwise it can be called plagarism and the owner of the website can be sued for copyright infringement. That is why you will notice some websites giving tribute to contributors of content on their site.
Add directories to the mix. A directory is a website that indexes other websites in an organized format. They are usually human edited. Some directories are completely free for a non-reciprocal link while others require a fee or a reciprocal link for a free listing. Your website will be listed in the category it belongs which ads to the value of the one-way link to your website.
When linking to your website you are going to want to do some deep linking to ensure that every page of your website is indexed by search engines. Directories however do not allow deep linking. Only the top domain can be submitted. It is best to do your deep linking through your article resource links that get published.
If you are a web designer then you can deep link through the “web design by” link in the footer that usually goes on your design. Make sure to use different anchor texts in your link and link them to the relevant page on your website.
Follow these linking rules and you will have some natural topĀ 10 rankings in no time.
